"…the attainment and maintenance of a uniformly developed body with a sound mind, fully capable of naturally, easily and satisfactorily performing our many daily tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure…"

Joseph Pilates (1880–1967)

Our philosophy - at the BODYCONDITIONING studio we believe in the use of intelligent excercise. We carefully select appropriate Pilates exercises for each individual, creating a balanced programme which suits your body. Your exercise programme continues to progress and evolve as your body changes. We run small Pilates classes to provide individual tuition and ensure exercises are carried out safely and precisely. The atmosphere in a BODYCONDITIONING Pilates class is friendly and informal to help with concentration, relaxation and enjoyment

Our main aims - to improve your 'core stability' by strengthening and toning deep postural muscles through Pilates based exercises, in particular the abdominals, to increase general flexibility and co-ordination and to develop a sense of body awareness. This will result in an improvement in postural alignment, correction of muscle imbalances and enhancement of your body shape.

Welcome to the BODYCONDITIONING studio website.

The BODYCONDITIONING studio was founded in 2001 by Lucy Haith, an experienced Physiotherapist, specifically to combine the benefits of physiotherapy with Pilates.

Lucy qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1989 and, after taking an MSc course in Manipulative Therapy in 1994, went on to head the Physiotherapy department at the Royal Ballet Company in Covent Garden. It was during this time that Lucy was introduced to the concept of Pilates. In 2001 Lucy left the Royal Ballet Company to broaden her skills as a Physiotherapist and establish the BODYCONDITIONING studio. Whilst developing her own business Lucy also worked as a consultant to Birmingham Royal Ballet and the Niche Joshi Clinic in Wimpole Street, London.
